"Carnival Equus" Camp

$350/camper

Each year the carnival comes to town, now take the fun and add horses to it!  Campers will learn to control their horses so that they can toss beanbags and complete partner races.  "Musical Horses," "Go Fish," and other games on horseback will create a special team atmosphere for all!  The carnival/games theme will continue with very special versions of "The Amazing Race," "Jeopardy," "Bingo," and more!  All of these  exciting activities will be horse themed so that campers can learn all about our amazing animals while having a great time!

July 22-26

"Horses in Sport and History" Camp

$350/camper

Join us for a week of friendly competition as we learn all about the many horse sports; practice cowboy/cowgirl skills in rodeo events, work on the ground to build confidence through a trail pattern, dream of Olympic greatness by "competing" through a jumper course and creating and completing a Dressage test.  We will also travel through time to learn about horses in history; medieval knights, ladies, and jousting, the old west, and even magical, mystical equines!

2019 SUMMER CAMP DATES:

(Camp days run from 9am-4pm with no additional charge for early drop-off or late pick-up)

Camp is suitable for children ages 6-16 and information will be presented in an age appropriate manner.

Some things that set us apart from other local camps:

* Daily PRIVATE riding lessons on one of our seasoned, horse-show quality lesson horses with a knowledgeable instructor

* Horse-keeping lessons taught through fun, hands-on activities including "Put the Part on the Pony", Colors and Markings Scavenger Hunt, "Paint A Pony", Tack Race and much more!

* The opportunity to learn many aspects of horse care, from grooming to first aid, to stable management, tack and equipment, anatomy, etc.

*Horse-themed arts and crafts

*Mounted Games

* Our facility includes a COVERED RIDING ARENA to beat the summer heat!  We also have an air-conditioned clubroom for campers to take a break in.

* We utilize a group "stations" format for activities.  For example:  If a group of 3 campers are participating in their riding lessons (taught by 3 different instructors), then the other campers in groups of 3-4 are rotating through the other activities such as horsemanship lessons, crafts or games until it is their turn to ride.  We don't expect the campers to wait and watch the others until it is their turn to ride; we keep them busy!

* WE STRIVE NOT TO FOCUS ON COMPETITION BUT ON EACH INDIVIDUALS' EDUCATION AND ABILITY.

* WE CONSIDER EACH OF OUR HORSES TO BE FAMILY AS WELL AS BUSINESS PARTNERS!  OUR HORSES ARE TREATED WITH KINDNESS AND RESPECT AND IN RETURN, THEY PROVIDE EACH STUDENT WITH SAFE, CONFIDENCE BUILDING EXPERIENCES!
